THE GEEKS' CONFERENCE FOR GEEKS IN GIRONA
On Saturday, September 26, 2026, we experienced a truly special day in Girona. Following the editions of the "Festa Open Source" that we organized as an association until 2024, and after the 2025 hiatus, we were eager to reunite in a conference format: an independent, 100% community-driven technical gathering focused entirely on deep knowledge, ethics, and the geek spirit.

Opening doors in Girona
From early morning, L'Estació Espai Jove was buzzing with attendees arriving. The warmth was immediate: reunions among peers, technical discussions starting before the first coffee, and a room that filled up quickly for the opening session. Girona proved once again that it has an active, curious community with a strong passion for sharing knowledge.
A 5-person team running the show
Behind a free event like this, featuring 10 top-tier talks, communication, and logistics, lies months of invisible groundwork. An intense preparation effort driven purely by dedication to the community and the desire to grow the tech ecosystem in Catalan.

The greatest reward of the day was your reaction. Throughout Saturday, during breaks, at lunch, and through messages sent our way, we received encouraging words, sincere thanks, and great constructive input. Seeing a packed room, undivided attention during sessions, and lively discussions continuing until closing time confirmed that this gathering was truly worthwhile.
This energy has inspired us so much that, despite the fatigue of months of preparation, we already have the motivation and initial draft for GeeksCAT Conf 2027 on the table.
